WHAT’S HAPPENING DURING THE CURRENT CRISIS – CORONA VIRUS UPDATE
Our couriers, APC Overnight, have put Contactless Deliveries into operation since the start of the Pandemic.
We are now dispatching on every day of the week, but we avoid weekend deliveries due to the high volume of deliveries being experienced by the couriers. There is a slightly longer than usual turn around of our orders but the delay is minimal now. Any special circumstances are always taken into account and we will do our best to accommodate you.
The couriers are of course under such a lot of stress at the moment, with the increased volume of freight and sadly less drivers, so please do bear with us if we have to make changes at short notice.
When you place your order online, you will receive an automated message confirming the order and payment,which will also contain a date for your delivery. This is usually within 72 hours of placing the order but at this moment in time this does depend on our stock levels. We are more than happy to have that discussion with you and pride ourselves on our personal service, for which we are often highly commended.
Deliveries can be made from Tuesday – Friday each week, and on mainland UK the cost is £7.95 for what is termed as a “Before 4.00 p.m.” delivery,
Our couriers will handle Saturday deliveries for us, but these are subject to an extra surcharge which we do have to pass on.
Weekend Delivery – Saturday (UK only) £17.00
* Unfortunately we have to pass on a small additional amount charged by our courier for certain Scottish postcodes, which will show at the checkout stage of your order but will not exceed a total cost of £15.00 for a weekday delivery. Saturday delivery is £9.00 extra on top of this, and we are really sorry but we cannot offer a before 10.00 a.m. delivery option.
We do recommend that if you have a specific date in mind for your delivery, you mention this at the end of your order in “Comments and Additional Information”.
Most of our products are delivered frozen, although occasionally we do send fresh products by the same method – you will be advised if this is the case. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee in very hot weather that the product will hold in its frozen condition although we pack our products very well as detailed below. It is not necessary for you to be in to sign for the box, as long as there is somewhere safe that we can leave your goods – we can give the courier instructions, such as “Leave in garden shed” or “Please leave in porch”. We can also arrange for the delivery to be delivered to another address, such as your workplace or a friendly neighbour at no extra cost.
The products are transported in an insulated (polystyrene) box, carefully packed by hand with ice packs which help to keep the products down to the correct temperature.
ONE VERY IMPORTANT NOTE – PLEASE DO CHECK THAT YOU HAVE ENTERED THE CORRECT POSTCODE FOR YOUR DELIVERY AS WE GENERATE THE ADDRESS LABELS AUTOMATICALLY FROM THE INFORMATION YOU PROVIDE. IF WE HAVE TO REDIRECT A PARCEL FOR DELIVERY THE FOLLOWING DAY WE WILL HAVE TO CHARGE FOR THIS SERVICE.
Complaints Procedure: Please note that although we are happy to report that complaints are few and far between, where a product has been found to yield unsatisfactory results we feel it is fair to ask for photographic evidence of the problem. This is quite a simple procedure with today’s technology and mobile phones, and we are happy to provide a mobile phone number where the photographs can be simply forwarded. Thank you.
