Calendar Celebrations 2017

Calendar Celebrations 2017

Our first celebration this year will take place on Burns Night, Wednesday 25th January, when Scots and Scots-at-heart enjoy much feasting and frivolity to celebrate the birthday of Robbie Burns, their favourite bard. There will be haggis eating, ceilidh dancing, songs, poetry and more, but most importantly – good company and loads of fun. Why not plan yourselves a Burns Night and try some "Neeps and Tatties" (haggis and mashed potatoes and turnip). Do NOT forget the all important Whisky!

Thursday 26th January is Australia Day - and if you have never tried Kangaroo what better day to give it a whirl!! We do steaks, diced, and some really delicious Burgers so you can entertain quite a crowd very economically and easily - it's party time!Hot on the heels of these two celebrations comes the welcoming in of The Chinese New Year - which begins on Saturday, 28th January. This year is the Year of the Rooster, or to be more accurate, the Fire Rooster, which comes around every 60 years. A firm favourite to feed larger gatherings of friends and family is our suckling pig, slow roasted and served with deliciously sticky crackling.

February is the month of love - and time to plan a wonderful night with your loved one. Make it a special occasion and prepare and lovingly cook a meal for you both at home - what can better demonstrate your feelings for that special person in your life? Watch this space for some fantastic bargains on this page to make it easy to spoil her/him !We're skipping into March very soon and there are definitely signs of Spring in the air - St. David's Day will be here on 1st March and we hope you will be eating some of our wonderful Welsh Wagyu Beef to celebrate!
